[Cz-astronomy] Naming convention for stars

Hi all,

I just started writing a couple of articles on stars with well established common names and I was wondering, before I continue, if there are any naming conventions established for this. I was about to start Almach (gamma And.) but it is known under a variety of different spellings and that's saying nothing about alpha And. for instance which can be Alpheratz or Sirrah. Would it be better to have the article title be the Bayer designations (alpha And. etc) or the common name since some like Antares are more likely known under the common name by the public than alpha Sco. Naturally, either would be redirected from the other as well.

Any suggestions?

Michael
