An interesting idea approach to the poll:

1. Only common name: "Giant Panda"
2. Only scientific name: "Ailuropoda melanoleuca"
3. Both names, scientific one in parentheses: "Giant Panda (Ailuropoda
melanoleuca)"
4. Both names, common one in parentheses: "Ailuropoda melanoleuca (Giant
Panda)"
5. Other 1 - please give details at talk page
6. Other 2 - please give details at talk page
7. Other 3 - please give details at talk page

I'm sure Daniel knows that this does not of course settle all questions we
might have about naming conventions for species, but it does nicely focus
the main debate, it seems to me.

I would encourage you all to participate--in the interest of my own
neutrality I won't, except as a "tiebreaker."
