Larry, Louise, and Computer Workgroup:

I need your advice on how to proceed: I received today for wiki-conversion the attached *.doc article from CZ Author, Marc Morgenstern [ http://en.citizendium.org/wiki/User:Marc_Morgenstern<http://en.citizendium.org/wiki/User:Marc_Morgenstern> ], who shows no user contributions [ http://en.citizendium.org/wiki/Special:Contributions/Marc_Morgenstern<http://en.citizendium.org/wiki/Special:Contributions/Marc_Morgenstern> ].

Article's actual title "The Open Source Movement".

Two things to note:
CZ already has an article on the topic: http://en.citizendium.org/wiki/Open_source<http://en.citizendium.org/wiki/Open_source>.
Marc's article contains excerpts and many citations to Wikipedia.

Possibilities:
Incorporate those parts of Marc's article to CZ's that contribute to CZ's article's quality. A job for one of CZ's article's contributors.
Reject Marc's article on the grounds that we do not in general consider Wikipedia an authoritative source for citation in CZ articles, preferring more primary or expert-written secondary sources.
Other possibilities you may think of.

Marc's email to us reads:

"Dear Sir or Madam: It is with great excitement that I am sending you my first article for inclusion in Citizendium. It is based on research done while I was pursuing graduate studies at the New York Institute of Technology. I am eager to receive your feedback.

 "Sincerely, Marc Morgenstern"

I have not studied the article to determine whether Marc based much of the research he mentioned on WP's article, whether he contributed to WP's article, or whether it contains material that could improve CZ's article.

Please advise, comment, etc.
