Thanks for the feedback.  As to the lists you want, they already exist.  See
this list of workgroups:

Note the "Editors List" and "Authors List" columns.
 
For purposes of coordination, note also the new workgroup mailing lists
(attached), which can be used to e-mail announcements to all active editors
of specific workgroups.

This sounds like a very good start. 
 
I would also like to suggest that we add pages to the editors and authors
pages that list the areas of knowledge that each author/editor is to be
involved in. I did not see any list pertaining to who is working on what
sections. This would especially help editors coordinate.
