[Cz-editcouncil] {Disarmed} absence

Dear Regina,

Thank you very much--I agree very much with you about informing the others
about longer terms of absence. More generally, the more that we communicate
basic questions and neutral information that "greases the gears of
discourse," the better.

There isn't any way, at present, to inform others about this without the
information being posted on publicly-viewable Web archives. I don't believe
there is any way to designate certain posts as public and others as private;
to do that, we would have to have two lists. (Which, theoretically, we
could do.)

At the very least, please inform the Chair!

Subject: [Cz-editcouncil] {Disarmed} absence

Dear editcouncil members,

at least twice a year, I stay in Ghana for a longer period. During that
time, I shall not be able neither to read my e-mails regularly nor to vote
or comment. I think that it might be useful for all of us to inform the
others about longer terms of absence.

I have observed that part of our discussion is published on a cz-page.
Unfortunately, I cannot understand the rules concerning which parts of the
discussions are published and which are not. I fear to inform the
editcouncil about my periods of absence because they might be published in
the internet. As my name can be detected easily, I fear burglars.

Does anyone have an idea how we can inform each other about terms of absence
without running the risk of being detected? Shall we have agreements about
which parts of our discussions are published and which are not?

Kind regards,

Regina
