Point of order: on the Proposals System page that contains the text of the
disclaimer, there is now a "proposed amendment." Which is the text that is
up for consideration by Council? Could we have a definitive declaration
about that?
I'm not authorized to make any definitive declaration about that myself, but
fwiw, I am inclined to say, strictly for reasons of procedural clarity, that
it is the text that first appears, not the amended text. All amendments
must be duly proposed, i.e., here on cz-editcouncil, and approved.
Any Council member has the right to propose an amendment of any sort. Go
ahead. Please don't complain, after we start voting, that we ignored all
the amendments that were proposed on the Proposals System page...
By the way, such matters of procedural clarity are why I think the full text
of a resolution should appear on a subpage of [[CZ:Editorial Council]] and
no where else--not Proposals System pages that are, as they should be, easy
to change. Think of Proposals System pages as rough drafts.
