[Cz-editcouncil] The New Chair

Dear All,
I have received the following nominations for the Chair of CZ EC.
1. *Milton Beychok* nominated *Russell D. Jones* but the latter declined.
2. *Anthony Sebastian *nominated *Milton Beychok* but the latter declined.
3. *Regina Bouillon* nominated Howard C. Berkowitz (the incumbent *Secretary
*) and he had consented provisionally.
4. *Anthony Sebastian* then nominated *Chris Day*.
5. Interestingly, *Chris *and *Howard *exchanged ideas among themselves (and
also with the first two persons who have occupied the Chair of the CZ EC)
and *Howard decided to withdraw from the race and seconded the nomination of
Chris for the Chair.* Chris then formally consented to me and affirmed that
he has adequate time to execute the duties of Chair of the Citizendium
Editorial Council, and also that he continues to support fully the
fundamental policies of the Citizendium community.
Therefore, I hereby formally declare *Chris Day*:

to be the *Chair of the EC for the period April 2009 - March 2010.* The
one-year tenure will come into effect from April 01, 2009 if *any member of
the EC does not object to the appointment within one week from today.*
Also, I would propose *Howard*:

to continue as the *Secretary for another year viz., up to March 2010.* He
had agreed to take up the mantle of the Secretary of EC at a critical
juncture when the then incumbent Martin Baldwin-Edwards had resigned
suddenly. *Unless someone objects within one week from today, to his
continuation, he will continue as the Secretary.*
Further, the new EC members have to be inducted soon as per

*The Secretary is the Election Official *and the Chair can help him whenever
required.
I shall be happy to offer my assistance, if required, since I was the
Election Official last year.
*I am sure that Chris and Howard will form an excellent team and make the
Editorial Council more vibrant and effective in the coming year. I
personally wish them all success.*
