All,
Finally, I'm kicking off SharedKnowing!
I've delayed the kick-off because I wanted to finish working on an essay
explaining the Citizendium's choice of license. I just posted that essay a
few hours ago, here:
http://www.citizendium.org/czlicense.html
I would love to have your feedback on the essay, but then, I'm not expecting
it, because it's 22,000 words long...which explains the delay in kicking off
this list!
Other than the essay, there is a topic I would love for this list to
discuss. A proposition I have long been toying with is as follows.
Radically collaborative communities--those that welcome people from far and
wide, inviting them to edit each others' content, with no authors being
assigned to any particular content--should be managed by non-profits. I can
think of a few different arguments for this. I'm curious what you think
about the proposition, however.
You don't have to discuss only these two topics. There are 131 listmembers,
which is an excellent size for a mailing list, I think. I'm sure we can
think of something very interesting to talk about. See the list info page
for more ideas:

Please review the list rules there, too. In short: play nice, please. :-)
