I'm stumped - CZ:Proposals/Editorial_Council. Once proposals are made, are they undeditable? Is there no revision process in response to discussion? Are proposals take it or leave it? Stephen Ewen 21:49, 13 February 2008 (CST)

Do you mean that the initial proposal should be continuously revisable by its originator? This is completely impractical, and the discussion around that should initially occur on the Forum and before submitting it. If you mean can the "driver" modify it? -- I understood that to be the case. For proposals addressed to the Ed. Counci, yes -- there are quite well-worked out procedures for how to modify proposals. They can only be done by the proposer and the two Council members supporting the proposal. Martin Baldwin-Edwards 22:14, 13 February 2008 (CST)

I'm puzzled by both of your reactions. Communication is so hard.  :-) Steve, what in the document led you to believe that proposals can't be edited? Of course they can be edited--why not? Once a proposal is sent off to the Editorial Council, they too can amend it (I'm sure you agree that's a good thing).

Is there some part of the text that needs to be rewritten so that this misunderstanding can be avoided by others? --Larry Sanger 12:00, 14 February 2008 (CST)
