:Thank you for your interest Heyford. Langue d'Oil is a synonym of French language according to traditional Romance linguistics. In spite of those two similar odd names of "Langue d'Oil" (French) and "Langue d'Oc" (Occitan), Occitan is more related to Catalan than it is to French. Thank you for your interest Heyford. Langue d'Oil is a synonym of French language according to traditional Romance linguistics. In spite of those two similar odd names of "Langue d'Oil" (French) and "Langue d'Oc" (Occitan), Occitan is more related to Catalan than it is to French.
