Agree, needs plan and rewrite. Suggest short article introducing subject, then offering outline of all topics deserving separate articles. A really good organizational outline, one that logically organizes such disparate topics as: history of medicine; chinese medicine; preventive medicine; disciplines in medicine; veterinary medicine; etc.
A huge outline, but well organized for readers to hone in on subjects of interest.

Article Plan
Personally I think this article is in need of a plan and total rewrite.
Level? Purpose?
I think one approach would be to dwell on the philosophy and history of medicine, and touch on illustrated examples of modern practice? This would mean I think getting rid of the list aspects into subarticles; lists are either long and dominating or incomplete, so I favour getting them out of the article itself.
Things that must be mentioned? a) The Hippocratic Oath b)principles of informed consent and assent c) regulation - the GMC in UK; d)complementary and alternative medicines d) Flexnor report e) heroic medicine Gareth Leng 10:45, 24 November 2006 (CST)
