I have stated some basics to kick off work on this topic, and look forward to input from others. I have been wondering, though: should this be 'European ''Community''' Law, or 'European ''Union''' law? It seems to be popularly referred to as the European Union, but also, the treaty of Nice merged the Treaty of the EU and the Treaty of the EC. Just to clear up a previous query I had regarding working on this article: this particular article specifically covers an overview of the law and institutions of the European Community (formerly European Economic Community). Another article (possibly something a joint politics/law workgroup can work on?) will be required to cover the broader applications of other European Union laws that cover the other 'pillars'. As EC law falls under the 'umbrella' of the EU, contents of this article and others developing from it could probably be incorporated into a wider overview of EU law in the future.[[User:Louise Valmoria|Louise Valmoria]] 04:23, 15 January 2008 (CST)

EC Law and EU Law

Just to clear up a previous query I had regarding working on this article: this particular article specifically covers an overview of the law and institutions of the European Community (formerly European Economic Community). Another article (possibly something a joint politics/law workgroup can work on?) will be required to cover the broader applications of other European Union laws that cover the other 'pillars'.
