I obtained my M.Sc. degree in Chemistry from Indian Institute of Technology, Delhi (India) in 1984. Subsequently, I was admitted into the Ph.D. program at Cornell University and obtained a Ph.D from Cornell University in 1993 for the thesis entitled NMR spectroscopic studies of protein unfolding, under the guidance of Prof. Scheraga. Afterwards, I joined Prof. Wagner's group in the Department of Biological Chemistry and Molecular Pharmacology at Harvard Medical School in 1993 (initially Dr. J.Hoch from the Rowland Institute of Science was a coguide). After completion of my postdoctoral training, I returned to India. I have been teaching in the Department of Biotechnology in GITAM University since 1998 (at the time of my joining it was referred to as GITAM college).
