I am a researcher in Physics; I have worked mostly in particle and nuclear physics, on detectors, data acquisition systems and Monte Carlo transport codes. I am presently at the University of the Witwatersrand, Johannesburg. I worked at CERN previously, and I still participate in experiments there.

I also have a long fascination with computer programming, dating back to when I was thirteen, that led me to a career to IT; but finally I decided that Physics is more fun! I still try to remain involved in OpenSource, in particular with the Firenze Linux User Group and Prato Linux User Group.
