Miyazaki prefecture (宮崎県 Miyazaki-ken) is an area of Japan located on the island of Kyushu. Its population was 1,148,000 in 2006.[1]
Miyazaki prefecture shares its name with its own capital city, Miyazaki (市 Miyazaki-shi).
