Dyspareunia is "recurrent genital pain occurring during, before, or after sexual intercourse in either the male or the female."[1]
One cause is menopause.
Treatment
Estrogen replacement therapy may help.
Lubricants may help.[2] Water-based lubricants may be better than silicone-based lubricants.[2] pH-balanced gels may induce local symptoms.[3]
