Her first, and most famous, set of recurring characters are in the Vorkosigan universe, which is pure science fiction.  Her two additional recurring universes (Sharing Knife, and Penric and Desdemona) fall within the fantasy realm. The first novel of the science fiction Vorkosigan series appeared in 1986, and she seems to have wrapped it up in 2016.
