Mechanism of action
Angiotensin II receptor antagonists block angiotensin II AT1 receptors.
Adverse effects
Angiotensin II receptor antagonists can cause hyperkalemia, but the rise in potassium may be less that occurs with angiotensin-converting enzyme inhibitors.[1]
