The Show

Sister Wives is a reality television series airing on a USA TLC television channel. The series premiered September 26, 2010, and depicts the polygamy lifestyle shared by Kody Brown and his four wives: Meri, Jannelle, Christine and Robyn.[1]Brown married Robyn Sullivan during the last show of the season. A total of 13 children and three step children make up the Brown family after their marriage.[2][3]

Marriages and Polygamy

Kody Brown said he is legally married to his first wife, Meri. "It's one legal marriage and the rest are commitment marriages. Like every other American family this takes everything we've got." Brown said polygamy is illegal in Utah.[4]

Police Investigation

Lehi, Utah police are conducting an investigation concerning the alleged polygamy and any evidence will be turned over to the Utah County attorney's office for possible prosecution. [3][5]

As of October 7, 2010, the Utah County Attorney's Office “sifting” through the evidence and no charges have been filed. [5]
