Bob Dylan is an American singer-songwriter. Beginning in the early 1960s as a solo folk singer with an acoustic guitar, he had a huge impact in the middle of the decade by switching to electric, using a back-up band and adding literacy to rock'n'roll.
Dylan was born Robert Allen Zimmerman in Duluth, Minnesota, on May 24, 1941.
