Asif Ali Zardari (born 26th July 1955) was the President of Pakistan from 6th September 2008[1] until September 2013. He was the husband of the former Pakistani Prime Minister Benazir Bhutto until her assassination in December 2007. Following her death, Zardari became co-chairman of the Pakistan People's Party (PPP) and fought a campaign to impeach and succeed Pervez Musharraf as Pakistan's Head of State.
