The Canadian Broadcasting Corporation is a large public broadcaster, in Canada. The CBC operates radio and television broadcasts in both English and French, and, in the North, in the languages of several First Nations peoples.
The Corporation receives funding from the Government of Canada. The Government of Canada appoints its Governors. However, unlike the United Kingdom's BBC, the CBC also broadcasts commercials.
