George Tiller (1941–2009) was an American physician and medical director of Women's Health Care Services in Wichita, Kansas, which was one of three clinics in the United States which provided "late-term" abortions after the 21st week of pregnancy.
On May 1, 2009, Tiller was shot in his church, the Reformation Lutheran Church, in Wichita where he was serving as an usher. Scott Roeder is currently awaiting trial for the murder of Dr. Tiller and is not expected to deny that he killed Tiller. His attorneys and supporters have suggested that he will advance a defence of having defendeded the interests of the unborn.[1] Following Tiller's death, Women's Health Care Services no longer provide any services.
