Special function is a mathematical function with established definition and known properties. Usually, for a special function, there exist algorithms for the efficient evaluation. Some of special functions are implemented in the programming languages.
The Important class of special functions is elementary functions which are bult-up from the algebraic functions, summation, multiplication, the exponential and the inverse functions.
Most of special functions are defined with simple differential equations or integrals of elementary functions, or inverse functions of some elementary functions.
Many special functions are holomorphic on some wide domains in the complex plane.
