Nicotinamide adenine dinucleotide [r]: (NAD+/NADH) A coenzyme found in cells that is involved in redox reactions, carrying electrons from one reaction to another; NAD+ is an oxidizing agent, accepting electrons, and becomes reduced to NADH.
