Could perhaps use some expansion
This new article could perhaps use some expansion and the section on the "Nitrogen cycle" could use a review by a biology editor to see that it is worded correctly. It was written from scratch and, to the best of my knowledge, does not contain any Wikipedia content. Milton Beychok 19:32, 11 March 2010 (UTC)
Revisions of expansion of "Nitrogen cycle" section.
First, let me thank you,Thomas Sulcer, for expanding the "Nitrogen cycle" section of this article. I revised references 5 and 6 to remove the unnecessary and somewhat lengthy quotes from the references. The references can speak for themselves. In my opinion, it is more important to provide some source reference credentials rather than quotes ... and my revisions do that.
My revisions also use a simpler format (on the edit page) rather than the "cite news" template. In any event, neither reference came from a print newspaper ... one came from an online textbook and the other from an online college course. Once again, thanks. Milton Beychok 23:19, 27 March 2010 (UTC)

- Thomas (or may I call you Tom?), I also made various edits to your expansion of the "Nitrogen cycle" section for the purpose of shortening the section and hopefully clarifying/simplifying it. I managed to shorten it by 825 bytes which admittedly is not all that much. Milton Beychok 01:52, 28 March 2010 (UTC)
- Thanks, Milton, you can call me whatever you wish; I'm usually "Tom" but at one point in my life I was "tommy" and sometimes more formally "Thomas" as I used this name in my writings more and more. I was going to remove the references but I wanted them there initially so other CZers such as you could see where I got the material in case there were problems. I'm not an expert but was trying to help, and the joy is learning new things when I write about stuff I know nothing about, since it forces me to come to terms with how little I know, and I appreciate when people with more technical backgrounds go over my contributions. I appreciate your intelligent copyedits and improvements. Thanks for your suggestion for the diagram. I didn't get how a neighbor told me to put my plants outdoors to get the rainfall, that it was better than tap water, and I did this, but I didn't know why; now I know why (although the plants still have problems -- I'm not the best gardener!) I'm going to be adding new stuff next week on the Aeneid hopefully and I have some source material (not newspapers) to help me along.
