Count Nobuaki Makino (1862-1949), a member of Japan's Satsuma Clan, was a principal adviser to Emperor Hirohito, accompanying him on his European tour in 1921, and then serving as Lord Privy Seal, generally considered the most important Palace official, from 1925 to 1935.

He was Japan's delegate to the Versailles Peace Conference and Japanese Ambassador to the League of Nations.

Makino opposed the Strike-North faction.
