Marine 1 is a fireboat operated by the city of Albany, New York.[1]

The city was able to acquire the vessel with the assistance of a FEMA Port Security grant.[1]

Recently retired fire chief Robert Forezzi had worked for years to enable Albany to acquire the vessel, and, after he passed away shortly before the vessel's commissioning, official celebrated his efforts with a plaque, honoring him, on the fireboat.[1]

The vessel is 36 feet long.[1] In addition to fighting fires the vessel is equipped for marine rescues, with sensors that include Sonar. The vessel is equipped to contain chemical spills, oil spills, and to fight fires from burning liquids through firing foam that floats on top of the burning chemical, instead of water.[2]
