I am taking a haitus from major CZ work because of current work commitments (not sure how long but probably a couple of months into the new year). I am still keeping a watch on a number of articles and making minor edits here and there, though, but I am hoping to be back into creating articles and major article sections as soon as I can.

About me

I am currently freelancing as a software engineer in London, United Kingdom, since 2006, on various .NET, Java and PHP software projects.

I have a passion for not only increasing my own knowledge but for helping with the free (as in freedom) dissemination of knowledge to others.

Education

Interests

I am particularly interested in: (in no particular order) Science, Technology, Theology, Philosophy, Politics and Music (and, particularly, how they relate to and converge with each other in society).

Citizendium focus

At the moment I am planning to author a few article stubs in the Computer Workgroup and then hopefully help develop them into full articles.

I am in the final stages of a software contract at the moment so it will be difficult to find time for Citizendium work for a few weeks but I will still try to contribute a bit here and there. Hopefully, I will have time to contribute more considerably in 2008.

Current work

Planned work

  • History of computing (Additional information, some clean up and restructuring)
  • Computer science. This major article was imported from Wikipedia in April 2007 and then blanked. Sadly, it's remained a stub since then. This is a major article in the CZ:Computers Workgroup and needs to be developed into an approved article as soon as possible.

Current work

  • Young earth creationism - Restructured and re-wrote. Keeping a watch to ensure it remains neutral and accurate. This is the sort of article where opinions and feelings run high on both sides and if CZ can remain neutral on this (and some other articles) then I am confident we can succeed where other projects fail.
  • [more to be added as I find them and the time]

Planned work

  • [list to be added]

Neutrality Policy

Every author should make sure they fully understand the Citizendium Neutrality Policy in full before editing or creating any controversial articles (or, indeed, all articles).

The above is paramount to the success of this project; the misunderstanding and misapplication of the Neutrality Policy is a common problem on wikis (especially Wikipedia, in my personal opinion). Please let that not happen to the Citizendium—avoid endless edit wars by being familiar with and ruthlessly applying this policy in your writing.

Larry Sanger has many useful articles on the concept of neutrality in his blog and in the Citizendium forum which elaborate on its meaning as it applies here. Please read these also if you plan to author/edit an article.
