Nativism in psychology/linguistics/philosophy/biology/cognitive science...
'Nativism' is also an important concept in those fields, broadly meaning that certain properties of the mind are inherent, 'hard wired' etc., rather than learnt. As a Brit I admit I'd not really come across the political meaning. How widely used is it States-side? I ask in order to start a discussion over moving this to Nativism (politics) or some-such, versus giving it top-billing by leaving it here. From my point of view, the other sense of 'nativism' is so controversial in other fields that there's a case to be made for a future article to be placed here, with a link to Nativism (politics).
