A constellation is a group of stars, that since the early beginnings of astronomy were assembled to form a figure or a picture. Not all of these constellations are still used nowadays. Most of our actual constellations originate in the greek, agyptian or babylonic culture. The boundaries of the constellations were fixed more and more with time. Our actual 88 constellations were defined in a decision of the IAU in the year 1925. The names of all constellations are latin words.
