Could someone help out here by converting the external links into internal links? --Larry Sanger 14:39, 22 February 2008 (CST)

This tool looks great! Although most students for this class should already have their articles started, we could add it for any stragglers. Would definitely be useful for future classes, at the very least. -- Sarah R. Taylor 12:40, 3 March 2008 (CST)

Start an Eduzendium article

This may be very useful, since it

  • Automates article creation
  • Automates placement of Category:Eduzendium, {{EZtalk}}, and {{EZarticle-closed}}. Because the latter or the equivalent is not atop all class articles, a few have already been collaboratively edited. I myself have made this error because the article lacked notice
  • Prevents accidental deletion. Several of this class's articles have been inadvertently deleted because they lacked notice; luckily so far, they have been noticed in the deletion log and undeleted, but that's entirely avoidable
  • Guides about CZ's article naming conventions. Several articles have had to be renamed, lacking this

I've tested it and it works - you can just click the buttons, below, to see what it does.

If there is interest it can be placed on the course homepage or on a subpage.

The below could be customized in seconds to use {{EZarticle}} for EZ articles that allow collaborative editing.

STEP 1. Add your article name where it says "Article name" (leave the /Talk part alone)
Example naming conventions:
  • Human evolution (use this naming convention for a topic article)
  • Charles Darwin (use this naming convention for a biography article)
  • Origin of Species (use this naming convention for an article about a book)

Now click the button "Prep your article!" then follow the directions that will appear (all you'll have to do is click "Save page" and return here).

STEP 2 - Add just the article name where it says "Article name" and click "Start your article!" (Make sure you type it exactly as you did before)
