"I'm Gonna Crawl" is a song on English rock band Led Zeppelin's 1979 album, In Through the Out Door. It was composed by John Paul Jones, Jimmy Page and Robert Plant.

Overview

A conscious attempt to capture the slow American soul-blues style of the 1960s, the music to "I'm Gonna Crawl" was in large part composed by Led Zeppelin bass player John Paul Jones.[1] The song tells of a girl that "drives me crazy... she's the apple of my eye. I love the lady. I got to be her fool." The strings were created by Jones using a Yamaha GX1 synthesizer, purchased specifically for this album.[2]

"I'm Gonna Crawl" was never performed live at Led Zeppelin concerts,[3] drummer John Bonham noted this as one of Plant's best vocal performances.
