misconceptions and outright copy of WP article

Because this is basically a copy of a WP article, there is a variety of things needing fixes here, which I will have to get to later. First, almost all compounds (except hydrogen!) have more electrons compared to protons, so mention of this twice needs to be fixed. I am going to move the page here.
