Faraday's law (electromagnetism)/Definition

states that a change in magnetic flux generates an electromotive force. Change in magnetic flux can be obtained mechanically. An electromotive force gives a current, hence mechanical work can be converted into electric current. The law is the principle behind the electric generator.
