Cypripedioideae [r]: It is a subfamily of Orchidaceae split in five genera and 170 species spread through the world temperate areas, few encountered in tropical America; known for being orchids with mealy or paste-like pollen; with two oblong or oval anthers; leaves with stealthing bases; shelter-like staminodium and labellum generally saccate.
