An example of the third-generation Expanded capacity HMMWV (ECV), the M1152 ECV armament carrier can be used as a guntruck or as a troop transport in Infantry Brigade Combat Teams, where they typically are assigned to the weapons company of an infantry battalion. Their main weapons mount can interchange a .50 caliber M2 machine gun, a MK 19 grenade launcher, or a single-tube BGM-71 TOW missile launcher. The vehicle has a two-man crew, and is the primary attack vehicle in the weapons company of an Infantry Brigade Combat Team. It is closely related to the M1151 ECV armament carrier, which seats four soldiers.
