Alan Colmes (1950-) is an American television and radio political commentator, self-identified as liberal. Until November 2008, he co-hosted a debate show on the Fox News Channel with Sean Hannity. He hosts the Alan Colmes Show, syndicated by Fox and broadcast on terrestrial radio stations across America, XM and Sirius Satellite Radio, and the American Forces Radio Network.[1]

He joined Fox in 1996, after going to national media in 1990. Previously, he had talk shows in New York City and Boston. He was the last speaker on WNBC, WMCA and WEVD before each closed or changed its format. WNBC went off the air in 1988, WMCA was sold to a religious broadcaster shortly after Colmes began there, and WEVD was leased to Disney to cover its ESPN format. [2]
