This is a list of presidents of Brazil.

Notes:

  • The first two presidents were military engaged on the fall of monarchy.
  • The period from 1893 to 1930 is called Velha República, old republic, a time when the elections were highly suspicious. The candidates were chosen mostly by the elites of São Paulo and Minas Gerais States, in turns. All presidents of this period, but Epitácio Pessoa, were Lawyers graduated at Universidade de São Paulo. The other one was also a Lawyer.
