North Leigh Roman Villa was first built in either the 1st or 2nd century A.D. The site is curated by English Heritage and is open to the public.[1] The villa is protected as a scheduled monument.[2] North Leigh Roman Villa was first excavated in the 1810s; the site was next excavated in 1910, the first of four periods of archaeological investigations in the 20th century.[3]
