The SDLP rejects all forms of violence and is affiliated with the Socialist International organisation. The party currently has 16 members in the Northern Ireland Assembly. In the House of Commons of the United Kingdom, the party maintains an electoral pact with the British Labour Party, meaning the two groups do not stand against each other in elections and work together on many issues.
