:Yes, it comes from the name of the great philosopher [[Willard van Orman Quine]]. I found this after wanting to create an article about W.V.O. Quine, only to find this here. I think that we should probably move this to 'Quine (computing)', then have an article on Quine (the philosopher) at 'Willard van Orman Quine' and then either have this redirect to the article on the philosopher, which would then have a disambiguation link to Quine (computing), or have a disambiguation page. As for quines, I rather like [http://blog.zenspider.com/2006/09/ruby-quine--slightly--smaller.html these Ruby quines]. Ooh, that's a trippy thought: imagine if W.V.O.
