- Should this be specifically the French device, with a parent article of beheading? While I forget its exact name, there is a very similar German device, which differs principally in having a curved rather than a diagonal blade, and is sometimes called a guillotine.
- Also, do I remember correctly that Dr. Guillotin did not actually invent it but introduced the legislation to use it? Howard C. Berkowitz 11:22, 29 April 2011 (CDT)
