Talk:Jimmy Wales
Hmm
This is a remarkably bad article. It has little that is actually about Jimmy Wales himself, beyond the first paragraph. Instead, it dwells on opinions, controversies, and scandals. This article does not represent us well, I think, and it really needs sprucing up. --Larry Sanger 06:04, 22 November 2008 (UTC)
Objectivist
Should we link this term on the page now - to something? If so, I suggest a redirect page for Objectivism, going to Ayn Rand where the theory has a pretty thorough airing, given its limited status as a 'philosophy'. (The page already links to Rand, but it is not clear to the reader that there is more on 'Objectivism' to be found there.)

- "limited status"? Perhaps this is British vs. American usage, but there seem to be a great many gratuitous comments about Rand, her nuttiness, etc. Nevertheless, she did influence a good deal of politics, which is being ignored. Bad as some of her prose may be, even Atlas Shrugged resonates with a good deal of phrasing of U.S. political concepts and cliches. Howard C. Berkowitz 21:13, 1 December 2008 (UTC)
- Is that a 'yes' or a 'no', though? Martin Cohen 21:19, 1 December 2008 (UTC)
If someone wants to write an article called Objectivism (Ayn Rand philosophy) or Objectivism (movement) (or some such thing), in the interests of tolerance within the constraints of CZ:Maintainability, I'd say let 'em. In the meantime, unless Howard or someone wants to write the article, let's go ahead and redirect the page to Ayn Rand. It would be somewhat similar to the case for distinguishing L. Ron Hubbard from Scientology. --Larry Sanger 21:37, 1 December 2008 (UTC)
