Numbers regarding size inconsistent
1,000 light years / 100,000 light years = 1/100, so reducing to 80 mi should mean a thickness of 80/100 =0.8 miles not 2 mm.
I know this is supposed to be scholarly...
But I'm now craving chocolate, caramel and nougat. Is hunger an adequate justification for disambiguation? Howard C. Berkowitz 22:06, 30 May 2008 (CDT)

Spiral Arms
Hi Folks,
I have given the subsection a graphic and an update. These graphics
color | arm(s) |
---|---|
cyan | 3-kpc and Perseus Arm |
sky-blue | Norma and Cygnus Arm (Along with a newly discovered extension) |
chlorine-green | Crux and Scutum Arm |
pink | Carina and Sagittarius Arm |
There are at least two smaller arms or spurs, including: | |
orange | Orion Arm (which contains the solar system and the Sun) |
Need to be updated as well.
