Related pages Instructions should stay?
Hi Tom--and all
I know it says 'delete after reading' on the instructions at the Related Pages tab, but I'm thinking that's a mistake.
Unlike the instructions for the definition, for example, the next person filling in something at Related Pages might well need to read the directions, unless they're a CZ expert.
How would they know (or remember, if they're like me) to use the R| template, or what the difference between a related topic and a subtopic is?
Now that we've got Talk page instructions in order, maybe we can clean up some of the others, too.
Comments?

- On all the other Related Articles subpages I've started and edited, I routinely delete the instructions. I think once a R.A. subpage is started, it's fairly self-evident to use the 'r' template as, ideally, the rest of the subpage uses it, and so the novice author will just copy the style of the rest of the page. --00:30, 27 January 2009 (UTC)
Yes, but that's because you're thinking logically, my love, and also probably because you're young enough for at least some of this stuff to be almost second nature.
Consider my plight: did you notice what I did? I wrote sighthound and typed, as I was writing this list:
- Afghan Hound
- Borzoi (Russian Wolfhound)
- Scottish Deerhound (Deerhound)
- Greyhound
- Irish Wolfhound
- Saluki
- Whippet
Now, I know it doesn't belong in the main article, so I cut-and-pasted to where it *does* belong, on Related pages. (Never mind what about people who don't yet know about our clusters) I was in a hurry, so I didn't stop to fix the formatting, either I'd do it later or someone else would.
So Tom dutifully deletes the instructions.
Aleta comes back later...or Hayford does, or Newbie does, and there's nothing to say 'use the R template, here's what it looks like you dolt'.
Take another scenario. Let's say someone names a couple of articles, then deletes the instructions. Next person, we'll say Aleta, comes along. Hmm...what's a subarticle as opposed to a related article?
