I think we're conflating a couple of types of theatre here:
- Theatre in the round has the audience on all sides
- a stage with the audience on three sides is generally called a thrust stage[1][2]

- I thought theatre in the round meant 'all around', too, until I read somewhere that the North American concept was for audience on three sides. I might be confusing something, and I've no problem changing it. Aleta Curry 06:11, 4 February 2010 (UTC)
