I don't agree with this: Pronounced oo by many or most Americans but with y by nearly all British: tûne, tûbe, dûty, lûred, lûrid, lûcid, Lithuânia, sûit, Surinám.

My very average British accent pronounces the t and d ones with y but none of the others (though either way with 'suit'). This is very much a question of idiolect, and I think it should be left more open. Ro Thorpe 20:41, 26 November 2008 (UTC)
