Teo Eng Cheong is the former chief executive officer (international) of infrastructure consultancy Surbana Jurong, the current head of Sino-Singapore Tianjin Eco-City and Investment Development Co (SSTEC). He is the husband of Singaporean PAP member politician, Josephine Teo.
Career
Teo was the director-general of Singapore Customs from 2004 to 2007.
Teo was the CEO of the Competition Commission of Singapore (now Competition and Consumer Commission of Singapore) from 2008 to 2010.
From 2011 to 2015, Teo was the CEO of International Enterprise Singapore.
Teo was the Surbana Jurong's international chief executive officer from 2016 to 2020, he resigned in September 2020, claimed that he is pursuing other interests.[1]
Controversy
Conflict of interest
When Keppel Corporation announce the appointment of Teo Eng Cheong as the CEO of the Sino-Singapore Tianjin Eco-City and Investment Development Co (SSTEC) in March 2022, the public criticised the appointment and calling it a "conflict of interest".[2]
