As a staff member at Michigan Tech Research Institute (formerly known as the Environmental Research Institute of Michigan and now a part of Michigan Tech University), I specialize in applications of digital signal processing. Most of my experience over the last 25 years has been in the exploitation of Synthetic Aperture Radar (SAR) signals, ranging from moving-target detection to target detection and classification. This requires a background in numerical analysis, image processing, and a deep knowledge of computer programming. Drawing on my M.S.E.E., I have designed, built, and deployed autonomous sensors to measure water-quality and glacier ablation (yes, they really are retreating). In my spare time, I fuse glass, ride my bicycle, and travel.
